Here is a killer arm workout you can do at home with just a set of dumbbells to help get those huge guns, I'm sore for days after doing this workout. This is an arm workout for the advanced bodybuilder, if you are new to bodybuilding please check my website for a more appropriate workout.
There are six exercises, three for biceps and three for triceps. The entire workout takes 45 minutes and there is very little down time. Make sure you have done warm-up sets for both biceps and triceps before starting this workout because we start in with really heavy weights and you don't want to get injured.
Intensity and focus are really important when you do this workout. Don't hold back anything, treat every set as if it were your last. I know I sound stupid with all my grunting and groaning but when I give it 110%, I can't help it. In this workout we do one exercise for biceps then without rest do the opposing triceps muscle. Here is the workout:
Biceps: dumbbell curl using forced negatives
Triceps: skull crushers Rest 60-90s while preparing dumbbells for next exercises
Biceps: Twenty-ones with barbell
Triceps: narrow grip bench press Rest 60-90s while preparing dumbbells for next exercises
Biceps: reverse grip barbell curls
Triceps: dumbbell kick backs
Repeat the above five times, the complete workout should take about 45 minutes. If you don't like reconfiguring the dumbbells all the time you can also just do each bicep/triceps combo 5X and then move on to the next combo.
Anyone can be healthier, have more energy, sleep better, and feel better about themselves through bodybuilding. Bodybuilding doesn't have to be expensive or take a lot of time, gyms are great but home workouts can save you time and money. A cheap dumbbell set from a garage sale or walmart is all it takes to get started with your home workouts.

It is a good idea to get a few different resistance tubes with different tension to make sure you can create enough workout intensity.
Do not let your wrists flex if you want to concentrate on your biceps.

I was hesitant to put straight bar curls up. This is an effective biceps exercise which you should sparingly.
People who perform straight bar curls more than once every couple weeks are more likely to develop wrist problems.
Since dumbbells allow freedom of motion at your wrists they are a safer way to build your biceps. Since you cannot supinate with a barbell as you curl, dumbbells may be a better overall choice.
When you perform barbell curls, make sure you do not flex your wrists to keep the tension on your biceps.
Take a slightly wider than shoulder width grip and keep your elbows in at your sides while you perform biceps curls.
Keep your core, glutes, and shoulders tight while you perform barbell curls.
No rocking, you are not "reverse power cleaning"
Again, especially if you work a desk job with lots of computer use, you may want to refrain from using straight bar curls in your weight training program.

It is very important to work the muscles in your back just as much as any other muscles in your body to have a balanced physique.
Make sure you retract your shoulder blades squeezing them back at the end of the motion.
Your shoulders should not protract.
It is important you have sufficient resistance from your resistance tubes. If your tube does not give you enough repetitions to challenge you for at the very most 20 reps when you are fresh you may want to either get a tougher tube or use 2 tubes.

Dumbbell chest flies are the best exercise to build your chest.
If you say the bench press is the best exercise to build your chest, you must think the seated row is the best exercise to build your biceps.
Perform chest flies throughout your chest workout to build your chest.
Make sure you keep your elbows slightly bent and try not to extend or flex your arms during the motion.
It doesn't matter at all which direction your forearms are rotated. The isolation is at the shoulder joint.
If you can't feel your chest contract may need to fix your posture.

Video clip illustrating proper form of the hammer curl exercise for biceps. The key in this arm exercise is a slow and controlled motion without swinging or jerking. Make sure to keep your elbows pinned at your sides and dont allow them to move forward or backward.
As with any dumbbell exercise, form is key if you want to maximize your muscle building efforts and minimize the chance of injury. Don't use too much weight, if you can't do the exercise slowly then you need to go lighter. Count aloud "one onethousand, two onethousand, three onethousand" on the way up and the way down, if you cant do this on this exercise then you are using too much weight. The reason this exercise method maximizes your muscle growth is because it confines the motion to the muscle you are trying to work out, if your body squirms, swings, and kicks, all you are doing is taking the focus away from the muscle you are trying to exercise.
Anyone can be healthier, have more energy, sleep better, and feel better about themselves through bodybuilding. Bodybuilding doesn't have to be expensive or take a lot of time, gyms are great but home workouts can save you time and money. If you do not have the basic exercises in your exercise program, you are wasting your time.
You must be able to perform the basic exercises properly before you can progress to more difficult exercises.
Results is what you are looking for. When you see fancy new equipment or people doing ridiculous exercises at the gym go about your business and do what gets results.
To perform cable flies properly do 2 things.
1. Keep your shoulder blades retracted for the duration of the movement. This means squeezed back. If you do not do this your synergist will become dominant, in this case the anterior deltoids. If you do this you not only risk injury, but you will look retarded with forward rounding shoulders.
#2 Keep your arms at the exact same bend for the duration of the motion. If you perform any arm flexion or extension you take the work away from your chest muscle fibers. You should feel every single inch of the range of motion in your chest. If you don't you should perform with no weight or very light weights until you can learn to control your muscles.
If you have protracted shoulders which is forward shoulders posture, you should probably not perform chest exercises until you correct your postural deficiency.
