Both games are great, but what do you think?
My opinion:
Scene 1- The original Meryl sounded a bit tougher to me for some reason. But I did like the way Meryl was able to snatch her gun from Snake in the Remake. Overall, there aren't too many differences in this scene.
Scene 2- Greg Eagles is without a doubt my favorite Grey Fox. When he spoke you could really feel the pain in his voice. Also, the "I'm losing myself" line was just great. I do think, however, that the VA for TTS Fox did better with the yelling part. It was pretty creepy.
Scene 3- you can really tell how they kinda slowed down the dialogue in the Remake with this scene. Oddly enough, Meryls butt kinda looked better in the original. Maybe because her panties were skankier. Her bending over for so long in the remake was slightly annoying, IMO.
Scene 4- This scene was very dramatic in the original. It was pretty dramatic in the remake too, at first. But standing for so long, staring at the pretty red light was just retarded. She hesitated in the original too, but they didn't stand around for 25 SECONDS while letting the light dance around her body and up her hand. Her position on the floor and the light on her eyeball was actually kinda funny in the remake. Also, the anti-war message was a lot more subtle and better said in the original. TTS definitely loses this round.
Scene 5- Sniper wolf's accent and overall voice is a lot better in the original. But the scene where she pwns that soldier in the remake was golden. The huge chunk of skin she scratched off in the remake was more hardc*re, too.
Scene 6- Okay, Otacon falling while getting Wolf's gun was totally unnecessary. Ruined the mood for sure.
Overall, like I said, both games are great. You'd think that with both better graphics and better gameplay TTS would totally dominate the original. But, for me at least, the action was WAAAY over the top, even for metal gear. I would have compared some action scenes, but there wasn't enough time for all the scenes I wanted to compare. In the Twin Snakes, the Grey Fox action scenes were hardc*re, though. But that's the thing; you EXPECT fox to do all that crazy sh*t; he's a friggen CYBORG NINJA. But Snake doing backflips off of incoming missiles? That's just too much. Also, for whatever reason, the voice acting in the original is a lot better, despite almost all of the VA's reprising their roles (You can thank David Hayter for getting most of the original cast back. He actually gave up HALF OF HIS PAYCHECK to get most of the original cast back.) I wonder why the acting wasn't as good as the originals...
