Alice Russell is known for her performances with Bah Samba, TM Juke, Kushti and she is the front woman of The Quantic Soul Orchestra.
Her debut offering 'Under The Munka Moon' was a retrospective of her finest works to date, both in original and remix forms highlighting her work with a range of musicians and producers.
Her solo outing is a Live 8 piece band -- 'Alice Russell Live' comprising of a prime selection of talented musicians.
Her new single "Humankind" followed by her second LP "My Favourite Letters" have been produced and co-written by TM Juke.
Pretty soon after her first 'real' album she released another compilation/remix album 'Under The Munka Moon II'. This album contains collaborations with Quantic, Nostalgia 77, Unforscene and Natural Self, as well as remixes by Bonobo, DJ Vadim and Nu:Tone."

About Yvonne Fair: Yvonne was an early light in the James Brown heavens, knocking out soul singles in the early 60's. Her rendition of "I Found You" is the blow-for-blow blueprint for his "I got You (I Feel Good)". She was the mother of Jame's second son.
By the 1970's she moved to Motown. She starred as Billy Holiday's (Diana Ross) mentor in their famed biopic, "Lady Sings the Blues" (1972). The Free Love ethos of the counterculture had blossomed into the loose polyamory of the 70's; this was reflected in the soul community in places like the Chakacha's orgasmic "Jungle Fever", the harcore comedy of Richard Pryor, the proud raunch of Millie Jackson, and Marvin Gaye's "Let's Get It On" album. When Betty Davis roared in to ratchet it up several notches, Motown seemed to respond with Yvonne Fair. Her LP, "The bi*ch Is Black" (1975), is graced with Yvonne as a kinky whip-toting domme on the cover. Marvin Gaye produced and sang on her swaggering take on "Funky Music Sho' Nuff Turns Me On". This was a chestnut previously done by roster stars like Edwin Starr and the Temptations, but Yvonne brings a whole new swing to it. Powered by both the strength of feminism and the sensual rebellion of the time, it foretells the sex-positive activists of today.

"Gil Scott-Heron (born April 1, 1949) is an American poet and musician, known primarily for his late 1960s and early 1970s work as a spoken word performer, associated with African American militant activists. Heron is perhaps most well known for his poems/songs "The Revolution Will Not Be Televised" and "What's the Word - Johannesburg" a movement hit durng the 1980's South Africa college and national divestment movement.
He began recording in 1970 with the LP Small Talk at 125th & Lenox with the assistance of Bob Thiele Flying Dutchman Records, co-writer Brian Jackson, Hubert Laws, Bernard Purdie (who later recorded "Delights of the Garden" with The Last Poets,) Charlie Saunders, Eddie Knowles, Ron Carter and Bert Jones, all jazz musicians (see 1970 in music). The album included the aggressive diatribe against white-owned corporate media and middle-class America's ignorance of the problems of inner cities in songs such as Whitey On The Moon.
The 1971 Pieces of a Man used more conventional song structures than the loose, spoken word feel of his first, though he didn't reach the charts until 1975 with "Johannesburg". His biggest hit was 1978's "The Bottle", produced by Heron and longtime partner Brian Jackson, which peaked at #15 on the R&B charts (see 1978 in music)."

"The Real Thing, a Liverpool based vocal group, had its origins in the Merseybeat boom of the 1960s. Lead Singer Eddie Amoo was a former band member of The Chants, whose beat singles gathered considerable critical acclaim, although they failed to chart. After continuing to record for various record labels, the band name was eventually dropped.
Re-labelled as The Real Thing, and with brother Chris Amoo, Ray Lake and Dave Smith on board, they got their big break following an appearance on the "Opportunity Knocks" ITV talent show. Spotted by an ex-Radio Luxembourg DJ, Tony Hall, he played a significant part in their early career development. Even so, success was not immediate, and contracts they signed with a couple of major record labels came to nothing, before signing to Pye Records in 1975. A spell acting as backing singers on tour with David Essex, also helped to increase their profile.
With a song written and produced by Ken Gold and Mick Denne, The Real Thing finally emerged in 1976 when "You To Me Are Everything" sailed up to the Number One slot in the UK singles chart.
It led off a list of nine hits on Pye over a three year period, which included "Can't Get By Without You", and "Can You Feel The Force", both of which were top five success stories.
Their brand of commercial sweet soul music, mixed with disco influences, established their popularity with the British audience. They were the UK's best selling black group of the late 1970s, but a switch to the Calibre record label in 1980 slowed the momentum. Subsequent material fared less well, although remixes of their first two hits charted some 10 years after their original release.
The group, with three of the founder members still on board, continue to perform and record to this day
Chris Amoo is also a regular on the Dog Show circuit, the highlight coming in 1987, when his Afghan Hound, Champion Viscount Grant, was crowned Supreme Champion at Crufts."

"Fragmentorchestra is the pairing of Italian jazz aficionados Luca Pernici & Giulio Vetrone. The result is a beautiful and up-tempo album of moods and grooves for some autumnal bliss. For Luca and Giulio, Jazz also means improvisation, which Luca Pernici explains. "A musician, in the moment at which improvisation occurs, is irrationally set free from any approach, creating a philosophy of composition without any given time or place". The goal is just this, to preserve an improvised approach through breaking down beats and notes but still achieving the variety of an orchestra or better yet, a Fragment Orchestra...
Luca Pernici was born in Reggio Emilia in 1969. At the tender age of eight he was already carrying out preparatory studies at the local musical school "Achille Peri" and when he turned eleven, he started to take piano and solfeggio lessons whilst his passion for music and for technology pushed him to find spaces in recording studios. Later with more than ten years experience in the studio as a producer, arranger and composer his passion transformed into the desire to open his own studio in 2000: the 'NuSound musiclab'. This became the catalyst for concentrating on and interacting with other artists and his own productions with a view to broadening his views for new horizons. It was under these conditions that he met Giulio Vetrone and the pair set up the MaffiaSoundSystem which led the pair ultimately to the beats and jazz permutations of Fragmentorchestra.
The extensive productions coming out of NuSound musiclab have inspired Luca Pernici to perform his creations to the public and for those curious of what will come next all we can say is that in the same manner that Brazilian music has influenced many artists, Senegal has captured Pernici's mind and soul. But for the meantime set yourself free amongst the cool reflections of the Fragmentorchestra."
